ACH-1625

In 2002, Achillion initiated a program to discover and develop drug candidates effective against the hepatitis C virus. Since that time, Achillion has successfully leveraged its expertise in medicinal chemistry and virology to develop its NS4A antagonist series. Achillion also used this expertise in a proprietary program against a more traditional and proven target, NS3 protease. Its lead drug candidate from this program is ACH-1625. more
ACH-1095

In collaboration with its partner Gilead Sciences, Achillion is developing a series of product candidates that specifically recognize a new HCV target, NS4A. As a result of their novel mechanism of action, broad potency against HCV, potential for oral administration and demonstrated lack of cross resistance and, indeed, synergy with other inhibitors, Achillion believes there could be significant commercial opportunity for its series of compounds. more

ACH-2684

In its third proprietary program against hepatitis C infection, Achillion nominated ACH-2684, a compound that demonstrates excellent potency in the low pico-molar range, as well as good pharmacokinetic and safety profiles in preclinical studies. The potency and virology profile of ACH-2684 demonstrates that it very effectively suppresses a broad range of natural variants of the hepatitis C virus, and may be effective in prevention and treatment of emerging resistant variants. more
ACH-702

Achillion is advancing ACH-702, an internally discovered compound, for the treatment of opthalmic and dermatologic bacterial infections. ACH-702 has a novel target profile against bacterial DNA replication enzymes, and potent broad-spectrum bactericidal activity, characteristics that indicate it may play an important role in the fight against drug-resistant bacteria. more

Elvucitabine

In order to address key unmet medical needs in treating patients with HIV, Achillion is developing elvucitabine, which has demonstrated potent antiviral activity against HIV, including strains resistant to other NRTIs. Elvucitabine has also demonstrated a significantly longer half-life than the other marketed drugs in its class and subsequently may delay the emergence of resistance and prolong the effectiveness of therapy. more

Discovery Programs

While pursuing the development of its lead programs in the HIV, HCV and antibacterial areas, Achillion continues to engage in the preclinical development of earlier-stage drug candidates. more
Discovery Technologies

Achillion intends to continue applying its deep understanding of virology, microbiology and synthetic chemistry to expand its product candidate portfolio. From early lead identification through clinical candidate selection, Achillion has coupled its knowledge base in genomic replication targets with an integrated drug discovery infrastructure to aid in the rapid advancement of its discovery programs. more
